First meeting of young European volunteers of Savona, Asti and Halmstad
Savona “All 4 one – one 4 all”: It was concluded in the past few days in Asti the first meeting on international voluntary service on the European project “All 4 one – one 4 all”. The initiative, designed and carried out by the Cooperative Vedogiovane from Asti in partnership With the cooperative Progetto Città of Savona and the group “Youth Council” Halmstad (Sweden), has seen the participation of young volunteers of Savona (Volunteers in action!) active in civil protection, In National Civil Service and in general from the world of associationism.
During the five days of meeting (29 October – 02 November 2011) the young people of the two delegations have begun to confront on volunteering in Italy and in Europe, With the objective of focusing one or two themes that will be the carpet of the work of local initiatives (the role of young volunteers in the territory, and the recognition of voluntary service at the local level, voluntary work and skills. ).
What does the project mean “All 4 one – one 4 all”
The project, began in the summer of 2011 and which will conclude next June 2012, provides for a comparison on a local and international level on the theme of volunteer work, To explain the meaning and importance of volunteering in youth experiences and how these can be declined in forms of active participation becoming propaedeutics to citizenship aware and to dialog with the institutions.
For this reason a part of the meeting saw the presence of political representation and institutional of this three cities (Savona – Asti- Halmstad). In particular, as regards the territory of Savona, were present assessors to social policies and to youth policies from Savona Isabella Sorgini and Elisa Di Padova. The assessors were put at the disposal of the young Italian and Swedish actively interacting with them on issues related to the voluntary work and on actions in support of young volunteers.
The project assumes a valency even stronger also in the light of the recent tragic events in Liguria, where the world of volunteer work and that of the young people in particular have expressed their best values.
The second meeting envisaged by the project will take place in Halmstad early days of March 2012 to present the results of the research work carried out at local level and start the job of preparing the Charter of volunteering.
